Bedrock structure guide

A .mcstructure file saves your build so you can drop it into a Bedrock world with a structure block.

New to .mcstructure?

Bedrock's version of a saved build. A structure block loads the file and shows you an outline, and you can rotate or move it before placing it for real.

What you need

  • Minecraft Bedrock with cheats on

  • A structure block, from /give @s structure_block

  • A way to get the file onto the device, or a behavior pack

  • A footprint of 64 x 64 blocks or less, at any build height

What is .mcstructure?

This is Bedrock's structure file. It lists the blocks in your build and where each one goes. A structure block reads it in the game, or you can put it inside a behavior pack.

How to use a .mcstructure export

01

Export the structure

Pick “mcstructure” in Bloxelizer and download the file.

02

Open a Bedrock world

Turn on cheats, get a structure block with /give @s structure_block, place it, and set it to Load.

03

Import and place it

Press Import on the structure block, pick your file, check the outline, turn or move it if you want, then load it.

When to use it

Pick .mcstructure to add one build to a Bedrock world you already play, or to share a build other people can place.

Things to watch out for

A structure block covers 64 x 64 blocks across, and as tall as your world allows, so height is rarely the problem but a wide build has to be split up or exported as a .mcworld. Slightly wider ones did load in the newest versions we tested, but that can break in any update. Java and Bedrock also do not have all the same blocks, so check water, redstone and chests after you load it.

Useful tips

Check the size first

A structure block covers 64 x 64 blocks across, as tall as your world allows, so width is the thing to watch. Wider builds did load in the newest versions we tested, but it is hit and miss and an update can take it away. Split anything bigger, or use a .mcworld.

Behavior packs for reuse

Want the build ready in lots of worlds? Put the file in a behavior pack's structures folder.

Try Holoprint instead

Holoprint reads the same .mcstructure file and shows the build as a hologram you follow layer by layer, which is handy for survival.

Check the tricky blocks

Redstone and water do not always work the same on Bedrock, so look over technical builds after loading.
