Legacy MCEdit schematic guide
Only pick .schematic if a tool or server asks for the old format from before Minecraft 1.13.
The old schematic format, from before Minecraft 1.13. Almost everything uses .schem now, so only pick this one if a tool asks for a .schematic file.
Before you start
Minecraft Java 1.12.2 or older
MCEdit, or an old WorldEdit build for that version
Somewhere safe to test the paste
Steps
Export the build
Pick “schematic (<=1.12)” in Bloxelizer and download the file.
Move it to your tool
Put the file in the schematics folder of your old MCEdit or WorldEdit setup.
Load and check it
Load the schematic and look at it before you paste, so you can spot blocks that did not exist in your version.
Export it by choosing schematic (<=1.12) in the converter’s export menu.

.schematic is the old format that stores blocks as numbers. .schem is the newer one that stores blocks by name, so it can handle modern blocks.
Not really. Newer blocks have no number in the old system, so they can go missing or come out as the wrong block. Use .schem for modern builds.
