The .gltf and Java world formats
A .gltf file is JSON glTF: a scene graph of meshes and materials whose binary data may be embedded or split into side files. A Minecraft Java world is a save folder of region (.mca) files plus a level.dat. The conversion voxelizes the glTF mesh into blocks and writes them into a fresh world folder, downloaded as a .zip you unzip into your saves.
How to convert .gltf to Java world
01
Upload a self-contained .gltf file in the converter below.
02
Choose the build size, rotation, and block palette in the preview panel, then apply.
03
Keep the Java world format selected, download the .zip, and unzip it into your saves folder.
When to use this conversion
Best for large models — buildings, terrain, sculptures — that you want to walk through rather than paste into an existing build or squeeze into a structure block.
Compatibility notes
Supply an embedded .gltf, since external .bin and texture references are not resolved; .glb is the safer export if you are unsure. Load the world in a Minecraft version that supports the blocks your palette chose.
