The .obj and .mcstructure formats
An .obj holds mesh geometry in plain text with materials in a separate .mtl. A .mcstructure is Bedrock Edition's structure format: little-endian NBT with Bedrock block identifiers, a second layer for waterlogging, and a size the structure block reads when loading. The converter voxelizes the mesh into blocks and then maps each one to its closest Bedrock identifier while packing the .mcstructure layers.
How to convert .obj to .mcstructure
01
Select your .obj file, plus its .mtl and textures if it has them, in the converter below.
02
Set the build size and block palette in the preview panel, then apply.
03
Choose .mcstructure as the export format and download the structure.
When to use this conversion
Use this when the destination is Bedrock — a Realm, a phone or console world, or a behaviour pack — and you want the model placed with /structure load rather than a Java editor.
Compatibility notes
Voxelization picks blocks from the Java-side palette and the export then maps them to Bedrock, so edition-exclusive blocks fall back to the nearest Bedrock match. Structure blocks also cap at 64×64×384, so keep the build size within that if you plan to load it in one piece.
