The .obj and .mcworld formats

An .obj is a text mesh file: vertices, faces, and a reference to a .mtl for materials. A .mcworld is a complete Bedrock Edition world — a zipped save with a LevelDB block database and a level.dat. The conversion voxelizes the mesh into Minecraft blocks, maps them to Bedrock, and writes them into a fresh world so the model opens as a playable save instead of something you have to place.

How to convert .obj to .mcworld

01

Select your .obj file, with its .mtl and textures if it has them, in the converter below.

02

Choose the build size, rotation, and block palette in the preview panel, then apply.

03

Select .mcworld as the export format, download the world, and open it to import it into Minecraft Bedrock.

When to use this conversion

Pick this route when you want to see the model at full scale in game on a phone, console, or Windows, without a structure block, a mod, or a size limit to work around.

Compatibility notes

The build is generated into a flat world around your model. Because voxelization chooses from the Java-side palette before mapping to Bedrock, a few blocks may be substituted for their closest Bedrock equivalent — review the 3D preview first.
